Three Part Reconfiguration of the Ursuline Sisters’ Motherhouse

The Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown are beginning a three-part reconfiguration of our nearly 50-year-old Motherhouse in Canfield following Universal Design Principles. Phase 1 will create 24 living spaces with private, handicapped accessible bathrooms equipped for safety, and install 21st century plumbing, electrical, and HVAC components.
 

Our staff and volunteers are prepping the former living spaces. These recent photos show their progress. Next month, bids go out for construction. A team of Sisters is working with a lay committee comprising building experts so the project assures good stewardship of our building, and a lay committee of financial experts to make the most fiscally prudent decisions for the project.
