O Tannenbaum

We were invited for the 4th year running to decorate a tree at Mill Creek Metropark’s Davis Center for its annual Winter Celebration.

This year, 45 trees were decorated by area nonprofits in order to reflect and celebrate their contributions to the Mahoning Valley. Our tree, seen below, is decorated with the theme of celebrating our 140th anniversary of ministry in the Mahoning Valley, which we officially marked Sept. 18.

Our Christmas tree features historical photos from the past 140 years, angels, bulbs that wish “Merry Christmas” from each of our Sisters, and traditional decorations. We also have a stand next to it with some brochures for the public. The tree is on the lower level just past the Melnick Museum entrance.

The trees are all lovely and will be on display through the early part of January. The park also offers special celebrations called “Winter Nights at Fellows Riverside Gardens” December 14, 21 and 28 from 5-7 pm. People from the nonprofits are invited to stand or sit by their tree and greet the public. The events feature music, refreshments, and a lit walk through the gardens.

The Davis Center is decorated with a theme of gingerbread folks and looks very enchanting.

If we’re there when you are, please be sure to stop by and say hello.
