Education Outreach | Ursuline Sisters Mission Scholars Program

Our Scholars Program serves post-secondary adult learners, empowering them to become graduates. Our program collaborates with students’ educational institutions to enhance their post-secondary experience. Each Scholar is paired with a Program Coordinator to assist them in the educational journey. Our Program Coordinator serves as a personal support, an advocate during their post-secondary experience, and a connection to community and educational resources to assist them on their journey.

The Scholars Program empowers adult learners to complete their program of study by providing:

  • Student & Academic Advocacy
  • Mentorship
  • Financial Assistance
  • Personal & Professional Development

You may qualify for the Scholars program if you:

  • Are enrolled in an accredited institution or an educational program that ends in a certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Have a household income less than 200% of poverty guidelines
  • If you are receiving assistance such as food stamps, TANF, WIC, or childcare assistance, you may qualify.

What are our Scholars saying about the Program?

"The support and assistance, both emotionally/financially, and the empowerment to keep moving forward is nothing short of amazing. I don't know how I made it this far, but I know the Scholars Program most certainly helped me here, every step of the way. I've always wanted to be a nurse, and I want to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart!"

Helping students grow and reach their goals

"In starting a new job and school there were roadblocks that were not in the plan. I was searching for scholarships to help with the cost of school, and I saw a posting about Ursuline Sisters Scholars Program, so I applied. The time that they have taken out just to see how I’m doing and care about my well-being is priceless."

-Trumbull Scholar

“You marked the beginning of the change in my life and played a major role in supporting me when I didn’t have anyone else.”

-Ashtabula Scholar

“When this program says they care about you, they mean it. Everyone remembered my name and was willing to check in with me. It was such a great program to be in for someone without a strong support system at home. My only regret is that I didn’t know about this program sooner."
